Help Support Mary After Tommy's Sudden Passing

Donation protected
Thank you for stopping by to read this. I put together this GoFundMe for my best friend and sweet sister, Mary, who lost her husband Tommy Hobbs very unexpectedly the evening of June 11, 2026.
MARY AND TOMMY HOBBS: First let me preface by saying, Mary and Tommy were "that couple”, you know the ones who just lived for each other and the love of their family and friends. They were the couple everyone loved and adored, one without the other was just never even a thought in anyone's mind who knew this kind and friendly couple. Married since 12/21/1987, next year they would have celebrated 40 years of marriage. (Together for 43) The day they met 43 years ago, their hearts became one and their lives would never be the same.
WHO WAS TOMMY HOBBS: Tommy was first and foremost a devoted and fiercely loyal family man to his wife Mary, daughter Shyla and granddaughter Lillian. Beyond that he was humble and kind to everyone he interacted with, whether it was extended family, friends or even a stranger. He helped everyone in any way he could, and at times without even being asked. He was the kind of guy who just knew when someone needed help and was always right there — offering to lend a hand. That was who he was and what so many remember best about him.
WHAT DID TOMMY DO IN LIFE: Tommy was a skilled builder and carpenter who even worked as a construction foreman. He could literally build anything from the ground up and he could fix anything, too. He was a very hard working man until a tragic accident on a job left him disabled for over two decades now. Fixing things for others (since he became disabled) was somewhat of a hobby for him since he couldn’t work. He was passionate about it, even fixing kids bikes and toys. Despite the challenges, Mary always worked and did her best to support their household, but the changing job market has made it very difficult for her to find steady income these last 6 months.
THE ASK: With Tommy’s sudden and untimely passing, it left Mary without any income at all, as his disability checks stopped immediately. Now, she faces the heartbreaking reality of not only grieving her soulmate, but also worrying about how to pay for Tommy’s funeral and keep up with their bills such as the mortgage, electric, water, phone and food. The last thing she should be worried about is money right now, but without his monthly check, she has NOTHING and is at risk of losing their home. We are asking for help so Mary can focus on healing from this tragedy without the added stress of financial hardship. Any support is deeply appreciated, and will go directly toward funeral expenses, debts incurred, and Mary's immediate needs. Tommy was the love of Marys life and her best friend. “The world is a much dimmer place without my sweet Tommy” she sobbed. Please help us to help her. Thank you for caring and for being part of this community that lifts each other up in times of need. We see you and are grateful.
