I'm Donna and I'm raising funds for my mother, who is in dire straits after her battle with cancer, job layoff, and the end of her unemployment benefit. She's 80 and having a hard time finding work, so we need to downsize her to a new place while still coming up with rent for her current residence. SHAG housing is great, but she has to totally reapply after her income is now currently only her Social Security, which will take time.

Our goal is to make sure she's got enough money to cover her rent for 2 months at least, and help relocate her to Tacoma to live in SHAG, a larger place in Tacoma with my husband and me, or even Arizona to live with my brother & wife, Scott & Cara, who have the room to spare and would love her to join them.

I usually raise money for important causes for my upcoming birthday, but this time, it's hitting close to home. Any amount you can spare will help her.

We hope that 2 months' rent and some more will help with transportation, moving, and storage expenses until we can get her into SHAG in Tacoma, a larger place for hubs, myself, and my mom, or my brother's place in Arizona.
