Support Marwa and Robbie After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Hi, this is Hedi El Kholti and Colm Tóibín in Los Angeles
Our friends Marwa Abdul-Rahman and Robbie Dewhurst have lost everything due to the devastating Eaton Fire. It is unimaginable what is destroyed and gone. They are wonderful people and this is a disaster and a terrible shock.
It hits us hard because Marwa has had a few exhibitions of her groundbreaking work, the most recent one at the Box in 2023, a work that is tough and brilliant and original. When the fire happened, she was at a crucial point in her career. Robbie was halfway through his biography of the poet John Wieners. He is one of the editors at Semiotext(e), and recently coedited the selection of Kevin Killian’s Amazon Reviews.
Marwa and Robbie have been extraordinarily generous to the arts community. Together, they’ve hosted many gatherings for writers and other friends of Semiotext(e). The Eaton Fire has not only disrupted their home and family life, but has also severely impacted their ability to continue their invaluable work in the literary and arts communities.
What is most urgent now is providing them with the means to resume their lives and continue their work. More than anything, they need support, they need our help, they need our love.
Please consider making a donation to support Marwa and Robbie as they begin to recover from this tremendous loss. They need money immediately to survive this next difficult period.
