I am Kimberly Lerch, Kristie's and Marv's sister,

Last year at this time Marv was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare disease that required a life threatening brain surgery. He has spent 12 months trying to recover and find his new normal.

Sunday December 15, 2024 devastation struck Marv again and this time is worse than last and nothing to do with his disease. Marv wasn't feeling well for a couple days, sweating from head to toe, whiter than a ghost, and very nauseated. Kristie was unable to even get him dressed so 911 was called to get him to Sacred Heart Hospital.

When arrived at hospital he was admitted and stabilized with scheduled tests the next morning and moved Marv to a holding room until his room was ready upstairs. Marv and Kristie sat and watched the Seahawks game and with it almost over Marv asked Kristie to please head home so he knew she made it before he fell asleep, by texting him when she arrived at home. At 9:15pm Marv called hysterically and stated "he needed her he was dying" She rushed back to Sacred Heart Hospital to find something she can't ever describe, Marv had coded and was bleeding out. They were giving him BLOOD and got him stable, within 10 minutes he coded again, they rushed him for a CT Scan, Marv came back awaiting results and he coded for the 3rd time. They came in to tell Kristie that he was having immediate surgery to stop the bleeding of a large Tumor in his stomach that they found on his CT Scan. Marv made it through surgery and was admitted to ICU at about 3:30am Sunday night/Monday morning.

Monday morning he had to have a upper GI to make sure they got the bleeding stopped, Not only was he still bleeding internally but they found serval abnormalities in his Esophagus, stomach, liver and lymph nodes, so they did biopsies of each.

Pathology came back 2days later, Marv has been diagnosed with metastatic Stage 4 Liver, Esophageal, stomach cancer that has also spread to 2 lymph nodes.

Marv will be in the biggest and hardest fight of his life. This is where Marv and Kristie need your help now more than ever, they are still paying bills from his brain surgery a year ago but it is the end of year again so all deductibles start over January 1st. They will have co-pays, medication, treatment, and so much more that will not be covered, a trip to Seattle if Marv gets approved for a new FDA approved process for his liver cancer, they are waiting to get excepted at this time.

Marv has already had 4 surgeries, two to stop the bleeding, 1 to put a feeding tube in and then another to put in his port in. Marv received 3 rounds of radiation, and will be doing it for next 5 weeks, 5 days a week, along with Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy as well.

Marv and Kristie are always the first to help others always and now it is time to return the favor. PLEASE, if you have the ability to help this family in this desperate time of need, the last thing they need is financial troubles to add to the unimaginable stress they are facing ahead.

PLEASE every dollar counts and takes the stress off of Marv and Kristie during this horrifying times of there lives, this is going to be a very long fight for his life he needs the piece of mind to know that Kristie doesn't have any more stress on her hands.
