On the morning of December 27th, Marvin was stopped near Fort Totten in a work van while heading downtown for work and, shortly after, was detained and taken to a detention center in Virginia. His wife Rosa and daughter Wendy (10) were left shocked, terrified, and without answers.

Marvin has been in the US for 18 years and is a hardworking member of the community residing in Montgomery County, working to create a beautiful life for himself and his family. Marvin is the primary provider for the family, and while Rosa is currently looking for work, it will be difficult to meet rent, utility, and grocery needs with the sudden loss of Marvin’s income.

This is a tight-knit and loving family, who enjoy eating at their favorite local restaurants and spending time together. Yet they are now torn apart from each other, with Marvin facing deportation and Rosa and Wendy struggling to meet basic needs. On top of that, they are now facing legal fees as they work to get Marvin home.

We are looking to raise $8,500 to cover 3 months of rent, utilities, and grocery payments while Rosa and Wendy work to stay afloat through this most difficult situation.
