Hello, my name is Lauren, a Manager at NASA JPL, and my dear friends and coworker can use some community aid at this time, so I’m helping to raise funds on their behalf.

Our dear friends, Marvin and Bona Ko, along with their children Amelia and Caleb, have lost so much in the devastating Eaton Fire that tore through Altadena, CA. The fire has left their home damaged and their lives turned upside down. Now, they are faced with the overwhelming task of restoring their lives — not just damage to their home, but their sense of stability and security.

We are reaching out to our community for support during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, big or small, will go a long way in helping them get back on their feet.

What Happened?

The Eaton Fire broke out suddenly, spreading rapidly through Altadena, destroying homes and displacing families. Marvin, Bona, and their children had to evacuate quickly, leaving behind their belongings and the home they worked so hard for. While they are safe with a home standing, they are now dealing with the aftermath—extensive damage, lost possessions, and the immense financial burden and replacing what was lost.

The costs of temporary housing and replacing essential belongings add up quickly, and insurance will only cover so much.
