Dear friends of Marty Boratin,

Most of you have heard by now that Marty had a near-fatal aortic aneurysm on December 20, 2025. The day after his birthday! Thankfully, his housemate heard him fall and was there to rush him to urgent care. They then sent him immediately to the hospital where he had emergency surgery. He woke up 10 days later from an induced coma. After a lengthy stay in the ICU and two more weeks in rehab, he is finally resting at home and healing. The worst is over. Luckily, he has his family and close friends to see to his welfare.

However, he needs our help recovering from the financial hurdles brought on by this event. Not only from the portion of the bills that health insurance does not cover but also from the lost work during this time. This request has been put off because we wanted a real figure to work toward and not just an arbitrary financial goal. We’ve all been to Marty’s and we all know the love he puts into the local music scene whether he’s booking bands, volunteering his time and working at concerts, hosting house concerts and potluck dinners, or offering a traveling musician some hospitality and a place to crash. Marty is one who always puts his friends first. Let’s show him some love and relieve some of his burden in his time of need.
