I am Samantha, the eldest daughter of the Zuniga family. I am here reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my dad, Martin.
Earlier last week my father was in a horrible biking accident in The Santa Ana River Canal. This accident resulted in my dad having a hip fracture in the upper portion of his femur, he broke his clavicle, his scapula, and 6 ribs all on his left side of his body. Along with those injuries he also suffers a concussion.
The injuries were severe enough to the point where he needed surgery as soon as he reached the hospital. Due to that, sadly he won't be able to return home or to “regular life” for a couple of weeks to months. He is currently facing a long road of hospitalization, rehabilitation, recovery, and lots of doctor appointments.
My dad is a strong, hardworking man and a loving husband, father, and friend. He has always been there for others and it's been incredibly hard to see someone like him going through this. During this time my family is facing MOUNTING medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and living expenses while he is incapable of working for now. My sister and I help financially, yet both of our professions barely cover our own expenses, yet alone medical bills.
We don't like asking for help but I truly believe we need it. We are trying to raise money for any and all medical expenses and living expenses while my dad isn't able to be home or at work. Any donation, no matter the amount, would help ease the financial stress so my family and I can help my dad focus on what matters, his recovery and healing!

Hola amigos y familia,
Soy Samantha, la hija mayor de la familia Zúniga. Con gran tristeza, les pido ayuda para mi papá, Martín.
A principios de la semana pasada, mi papá sufrió un terrible accidente de bicicleta en el canal del río Santa Ana. Este accidente le provocó una fractura de cadera, fémur superior, clavícula, scapula y seis costillas, todas en el lado izquierdo del cuerpo. Además de estas lesiones, también sufrió una conmoción cerebral.
Las lesiones fueron tan graves que necesitaba cirugía en cuanto llegó al hospital. Debido a esto, lamentablemente no podrá regresar a casa ni a su “vida normal” durante un par de semanas o meses. Actualmente enfrenta un largo camino de hospitalización, rehabilitación, recuperación y muchas citas médicas.
Mi papá es un hombre fuerte y trabajador, un esposo, padre y amigo cariñoso. Siempre ha estado ahí para los demás, y ha sido increíblemente difícil ver a alguien como él pasar por esto. Durante este tiempo, mi familia se enfrenta a un aumento de facturas médicas, costos de rehabilitación y gastos de manutención, ya que él no puede trabajar. Mi hermana y yo contribuimos económicamente, pero nuestros trabajos apenas cubren nuestros propios gastos, y mucho menos las facturas médicas.
No nos gusta pedir ayuda, pero creo que la necesitamos. Estamos intentando recaudar fondos para cubrir todos los gastos médicos y de manutención mientras mi padre no pueda estar en casa ni en el trabajo. Cualquier donación, sin importar la cantidad, ayudaría a aliviar la presión financiera. Para que mi familia y yo podamos ayudar a mi padre a enfocarnos en lo importante: su recuperación y sanación.
