Hi, my name is Martina. I am a UK citizen and self-employed fitness coach who has travelled internationally for work and personal reasons for many years.

Over the past two years, my life has changed in ways I never imagined. I’ve always been someone who travelled freely, movement, new places, and connection were (and still are) a big part of who I am and who I want to continue to be. Today, I no longer have that choice. I can’t leave the country, not because I don’t want to, but because I simply can’t.

Watching others travel in and out of the UK freely has been one of the quietest but hardest parts of this journey. That loss of freedom has taken a serious toll on my mental health. It’s isolating, frustrating, and at times deeply painful to feel frozen in time and left behind while life continues for everyone else.

Alongside the emotional impact, I have suffered significant financial losses. I spent money travelling to Turkey in hope, only for things not to work out. When I later travelled to Grenada, I never even received my luggage back, another loss I had to absorb alone. I have lost thousands of pounds not only through cancelled flights and accommodation, but also through:

• Two weeks of missed work while I was supposed to be away

• Cat-sitting services paid for in advance

• Visa and travel application fees

• Endless phone calls, admin costs, and documentation chasing answers

Some of the most distressing experiences occurred during travel itself. Being stopped, questioned, detained, and treated with suspicion on planes was humiliating. Airline staff treated me as though I had done something wrong, having my passport help by the pilot of the plane, being asked to be moved from exit aisle incase I decided to jump out of the plane. Those experiences stayed with me long after the flights ended.

Having been denied entry and deported after border authorities informed me that my name was linked to an international security alert, reportedly connected to Interpol systems.

Following these incidents, I have made formal enquiries and have since received written confirmation that there is no active Interpol Red Notice registered in my name, and that I have no criminal convictions or outstanding warrants in the UK. Despite this, my name continues to be flagged in certain international border systems, with no clear explanation as to why the record exists, where it is held, or how it can be corrected.

As a result, I am facing ongoing uncertainty, restrictions on travel, financial loss, and emotional distress. Resolving this situation requires specialist legal support and formal data access and correction requests across multiple jurisdictions.

I have had one meeting with lawyers and even just investigating is costing thousands which for me sounds crazy as all I want is to wake up and this not be happening.

I am seeking support to help cover the costs of properly addressing this issue through lawful and transparent channels. This includes obtaining specialist legal advice and formally requesting disclosure and correction of any inaccurate or misattributed data held about me.

This situation has been challenging to navigate alone. I am not seeking sympathy, only the opportunity to resolve this matter properly and regain clarity and freedom of movement.
