My name is Martin O'Brien, producer/director and founder of Mofilms.
We are developing and financing the official documentary about Larry Hagman — the extraordinary actor, activist, and cultural icon known worldwide as J.R. Ewing and Major Tony Nelson. We have exclusive permission from Larry's family. The production is accelerating quickly and we are now preparing for a critical two-day shoot in January to move the documentary into its next major phase: filming interviews with some of the key people in Larry's life.
We have access to never-before-seen archival footage filmed by Larry himself — behind the scenes on Dallas, Jeannie, and moments from his personal life, like Burning Man, his parades on the beach in Malibu, and much more. This material is pure gold and has never been made public.
Major studios have already expressed interest in the film.
Why This Shoot Matters
This two-day shoot will allow us to create a powerful sizzle reel, of the interviews and archival footage, to present to studios and major funders. Doing this now is essential to unlocking full production financing.
We are seeking $29,000 to cover:
Production crew - Director, Director of Photography, Sound, Lighting, Production Designer, Producers,
Soundstage rental (at the Dancing With the Stars facility)
Equipment rental
Set materials
