Hello, my name is Maria and I am here hoping to help my younger sister for a little financial support. I am in my early 20s and recently graduated with an associate's degree and looking hard to find a career path. My sister and I were adopted as babies (separately), we live at home with our mom who has diabetes and arthritis, and our very absent father. My sister has worked very hard since middle school to get into a good college, she graduated Summa Cum Laude and received a few scholarships towards her degree at James Madison University. Starting her first semester in 2023, she settled on being a Veterinarian or an Epidemiologist.
Our dad has never really been an active part of our lives, since he was always busy having affairs with random women. Despite having a reputable job, he does not pay the bills at home or buy groceries, and now he sends threats of having the one car we all use (my mom, sister, and I) repo which will leave us all without a way to get to or from school, work, or even doctors visit; and with my mom being unwell, she is unable to find a job to support either of us mainly my younger sister. Halfway through my sister's first year at JMU, our dad outright stop paying for her classes completely, he removed us all from the medical insurance even my sister and I have strange unpredictable allergic reactions to mainly food and a number of medicines such as antibiotics and pain meds. He is behind on all utilities to which my boyfriend helped pay since they got terminated. The basement is flooded due to a minor water heater leak which he refused to fix now it's a disaster which forces us to turn the water off at the house while he is out at hotels and out of town trips.
Currently my sister is being sued by JMU for past due bills which he was supposed to pay (he used all the money on expensive trips and women). She is trying to help raising enough money to pay those past due bills so she can enroll in classes for this upcoming semester and continue on her path to success. Our mom tries her best to help with what she can and is in the process of making arrangements to take over her college payments starting next year using government assistance. I recently lose my job and will help her with payments once I am re-employed as well.
If she is able to gain some sympathy and help, she will forever be grateful and will without a doubt remain a very impactful life lesson learnt about hard times and helping others in need. She is a smart, fun, and loving person who just wants to make this world a better place, so I am here asking for help on her behalf. We are open to further questions and ask please share our story those you believe may feel the urge to support my sister's dreams, goals, and aspirations.
