Martha Kinyonga is a devoted wife, loving mother of four, and a cherished friend from church who has dedicated her life to serving as a missionary in Tanzania for over a decade. A couple years ago, Martha and her husband had to leave the mission field when she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Since then, Martha has bravely endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, but her cancer has not been cured. Her husband continues to travel back and forth to Tanzania to continue his church work, while Martha remains in the United States for treatment and cares for their four children.
Recently, Martha was accepted into a promising treatment program at Envita in Arizona, which has shown remarkable results for people facing similar battles. However, this treatment is not covered by insurance, and all expenses must be paid out of pocket. Before she can even begin, Martha needs extensive lab work, and the treatment itself will require her to pay a significant amount upfront each week for four months. She will need to travel from her home in Wisconsin to Arizona, where she has no family or friends, and stay there for the duration of her treatment. This is Martha’s last hope to overcome cancer, remain with her family, and continue her mission work in Tanzania.
The funds raised will go directly toward Martha’s lab work, her weekly treatments, and her housing while she is in Arizona.
