It is with the heaviest heart that I share the news of my mother, Marta Hernandez Guillen passing away Tuesday at 10:33am August 5th 2025 after a long battle with cancer. She was a kind and loving woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We will be holding a memorial service soon. I am grateful for the support of my family and friends during this difficult time.

After a long, brave 7 months fighting a rare and aggressive cancer, Marta has recently been placed into hospice care. The doctors have exhausted every possible option, and while Marta is still with us, we’ve been faced with the heartbreaking reality of what’s ahead....

As much as we wish it weren't true, we also have to begin preparing for the things no family wants to plan for — including funeral arrangements and the support during and after this incredibly painful time.

This fundraiser is to help ease some of that burden: to give Marta peace.

While we don’t know exactly how much time we have, we want to make sure her final days are full of comfort and her memory honored with the dignity she deserves.
