Help Marsha Reclaim Her Life and Art

Hello, my name is June. I’m fundraising for my dear younger sister, Marsha, who fell ill last year, went into septic shock, and was near death. Luckily, our brothers called me and said Marsha was unresponsive, so I dropped everything and got a flight that night, from Seattle to Monterey. It was so scary to see her like this. Somehow, she had an infection, which turned into sepsis and basically, all of her bodily functions were shutting down. It affected her normal brain function, causing her to be incoherent , and unable to keep down food or water. She lost at least 75 pounds, losing vital muscle tissue, her kidneys were at the point of complete shut down, and was at the brink of…(I can’t even say it, it still makes me cry, thinking about it.) She virtually had zero sugar and potassium in her system, had acute kidney injury, almost to the point of collapsing. Luckily, we got her to the hospital, in the very nick of time. She was in a catatonic state, when I arrived, was barely able to talk or answer the paramedic’s questions, before she arrived by ambulance, to the hospital.
When she came to, it was like she was tasting everything as if she never had it before. This was after the IV fluids, then feeding tube, then to solid foods, which started with ice chips. She literally thought the ice chips were ‘magical cubes!’ I stayed by her side, every day/night for the 10 days she was in the hospital. I prayed to the Universe, that she would get her normal brain function back, and get back to the incredible artist that she is, and every day, she got better and better!
She is rebuilding her strength, but currently unable to walk long distances, or work. She is trying, daily, and taking short walks to the store. Sadly, during this time in the hospital, and recovery, her truck was repossessed and now she is in danger of losing her art studio/living space.
I’m asking for your help, so that Marsha can catch up with rent, pay for physical therapy, help with food and basic necessities, until she is able to get her health back on track. All of us siblings, have been supporting her up until now and we could use a little help. Thank you for helping Marsha, she is the funniest, most talented person I know! One of the best things about her recovery, was seeing her get her humor back! Marsha has the most positive attitude, and I’m so happy that the infection in her brain has gone! We didn’t know what was going on, we just knew she wasn’t her usual happy, funny self, for quite some time. I’m so happy that our prayers were answered! Thank you Universe and blessings to all!
