Please help my poor puppy Marshall. Marshall is a year and a half old, very healthy Dalmatian puppy. I adopted Marshall after he was no longer wanted by his first family due to his high energy and craziness, which is very common in his breed.
Marshall, just like all Dalmatians, has a genetic defect that does not allow him to break down uric acid. Because of this, stones can easily develop and cause an obstruction. Unfortunately for Marshall, his obstruction caused his bladder to burst, which caused urine to fill up the rest of his body. Marshall was near death until the emergency vet was able to give him surgery. The vet was able to remove the stones from his urethra, stitch back together his bladder, and then had to flush his body to remove the acidic urine from his other organs.
Marshall is strong and healthy and needs all the help he can get. Anything helps as this surgery is costing much more than we have. Please pray for Marshall and also please spread the word to anyone who has a Dalmatian that this can occur and it can occur without you even knowing. A diet and just a few lifestyle changes are all that is needed to prevent this from happening!
