Hello, my name is Mars. I’m 26 years old, and this year I found 3 large masses in my thyroid. After a biopsy it was confirmed that the larger of these masses is 75% sure to be or become cancerous. I have surgery scheduled for May 14th to remove the right side of my thyroid. I will be on bed rest for 2-3 weeks to recover after. However, I just started working a new job at the hospital in February of this year and I have not earned enough paid time off to cover my recovery time. There’s no putting off this surgery, but I will not be able to pay my rent and all my other bills without my income. I just moved to my new home in Oregon this year and began my career journey.
