Hi! I’m Mars and I live with my partner Kay and our kitty Munch. We’re a couple and have been together for over 3 years :)

We’ve been struggling financially ever since I lost my job in July due to mental health struggles (unexcused absences due to hospital stay and overall fatigue). I have Autism and unmedicated OCD & MDD and have lived independently since I was 18, so nearly 4 years later, this was my first time experiencing such severe burnout that it led to me being let go.

We fell behind on all bills and were trying to stay current, but considering unemployment was only providing me with less than $500 a month, we were not able to stay on top of piling costs. Living in Florida is also ridiculously expensive, and our rent is $2000 alone, not including all other utility costs that we also take care of single-handedly.

Thankfully, after nearly 5 months of applying to over a hundred places, I landed a job with my boyfriend due to a position opening up and pure luck. I just started working again on November 17th. Needless to say, we were trying to catch up after our landlord threatened eviction on multiple occasions despite our situation and us trying to make partial payments whenever possible.

Unfortunately, with all the financial burden we were going through, I was also months behind on my car note and had my car repossessed 2 days ago. Now we need to come up with almost $3000 to reinstate my license, which was suspended due to my inability to pay tickets I got for not renewing my tag, which I couldn’t renew because we could not afford it. A lot of it has been a domino effect. I have to get this resolved before December 16th, as that is my cut-off date before they are allowed to sell my car at auction. With such short notice, and my landlord threatening eviction again as we JUST finished paying October’s rent last week, there is no way for us to cover either cost without either being evicted or losing our only mode of transportation permanently after we spent over a year and put thousands of dollars towards my car loan.

If you need any additional details or documentation to prove any of this, I’d be more than happy to provide that. I’ll be asking for a smaller amount than the total cost simply because I have started earning money again but have no way of making anywhere near enough with the deadline provided to me.
