Life isn’t always fair. Sometimes, the people who spend their lives helping others are the ones who need help the most. Marquita Butler is one of those people. She’s 41 years old, a loving wife, a daughter, and a dear friend to so many. For years, she has worked as a respiratory therapist, comforting scared patients, helping them breathe when they couldn’t on their own, and saving lives. But now, her own life is at risk and she needs us more than ever.

A few months ago, Marquita got the news no one should ever hear: Cancer. The kind that changes everything.The kind that steals sleep, peace, and the dreams of tomorrow. But Marquita is a fighter. She refuses to give up. She found a treatment that could save her life a clinical trial in Chicago but there’s a cruel truth: Her insurance won’t pay for it.

Marquita has worked too hard for this to be the end of her story. In her 30s, she went back to school, studying late at night, pushing through exhaustion just so she could make a difference in the healthcare field. She never imagined she’d be the one needing a miracle.
