Marlys and I met several years ago when she worked as a physical therapist next door to my coffee shop. Through our many conversations, we found a deep commonality, and she soon became a close friend. Marlys is one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I know, always ready to lend a hand or offer a comforting word to those around her.

Recently, Marlys has been facing an incredibly tough battle with cancer. After a long and courageous fight, she is now confronted with the difficult decision of undergoing a leg amputation. This life-changing surgery requires her to travel to Seattle, where she will also need to spend time recovering and going through rehabilitation.
