Marlon needs our help, and we want to give them everything the universe has to offer to ensure their joyful and loving light continues to shine for decades to come. On their seventh birthday, February 2, 2026, Marlon underwent a 16-hour surgery to remove a grade 3 ependymoma brain tumor. While the surgery has been a success, Marlon’s bravery and resilience have been deeply inspiring throughout, and yet their journey is far from over.
As part of Marlon’s ongoing treatment, they will be undergoing seven weeks of radiation therapy at the California Protons Cancer Therapy Center (affiliated with Rady’s Children’s Hospital). For Marlon to receive the best possible care, Marlon, Sam, Dylan, and Langston will be dividing their time between the Bay Area and San Diego. Both Sam and Dylan will need to miss a substantial amount of work. This comes with significant financial challenges, including loss of income, travel expenses, the cost of accommodations, and the mounting costs of radiation and cancer treatment.
The outreach so far from family, friends, and the community has been beautiful and humbling. However, Marlon and their family need support more than ever. Through the generosity of our community and loved ones, we can help ensure Marlon gets everything they need to heal and thrive. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference.
