Support Marling's Critical Brain Surgery

I am raising money for a life-saving operation for Marling Diaz. Marling is my son's nanny and has been caring for him since he was 8 weeks old. The amount of love she has poured into my son and my postpartum care has been a blessing to my family. I truly don't know what I would have done without her help.

Marling has seen numerous doctors, specialists, and therapists trying to find someone who can figure out why her eye is lazy and why she has daily headaches, pain, and fatigue. She cannot see out of her eye, and she is starting to experience pain in her other eye. She recently saw a specialist who discovered the reason she has been having these symptoms is because she has a brain tumor. The tumor is growing and taking up space in her head and putting pressure on her eye. She has had symptoms for over a year, and the tumor is nearly 2 years old.

Even though she pays for public health insurance in Costa Rica, she cannot get an operation for a least 6 months, and unfortunately, she doesn't have that much time. The specialist has told her that she needs to have the operation as soon as possible before it affects her other eye or becomes fatal. The operation costs $2,500 from a specialist in San Jose, Costa Rica. After the operation, Marling will have to go to therapy and re-learn how to eat, walk, talk, etc for a minimum of 2 years.

I am raising money to pay for her operation and her rehabilitation period after the operation. Marling has a spouse and two little girls who very much depend on their mom. She is loved by her community in Costa Rica and is a good woman with a a true pura vida heart.
