Hello, I am the mother of Marlie Rue Hayes. Marlie is currently 3 1/2 months old and was born with a clubbed right foot. We have been in the process of correcting it with Riley Children’s Hospital. Somehow, during her casting phase, her foot slipped in one of those casts and made her foot even worse. Her foot ended up becoming a complex clubbed foot, and there are only a handful of specialists who can fix complex clubfoot. Her treatment plan looks like three different casts every four days and then a surgery on her foot. After that surgery, she will be in a cast for three weeks to heal. Then, to maintain the correction of her foot, she will have to wear braces 23/7 for 3-5 months. After that, she will only have to wear those braces during naps and nighttime till she is 5 years old. The best specialist to see my sweet baby is in West Palm Beach, Matthew Dobbs. There will be at least four different visits traveling to and from Florida, also finding places to stay at, food, and medical expenses.
