Hi, my name is Marlen "Marley." I have a love for life and a bigger love for RUGBY. I am currently playing as a Forward and a Back, which makes me a Utility Player for San Fernando Valley Woman's Rugby Team, and I participate in local scrimmages. Playing rugby has given me the opportunity to grow within the Women's Rugby league. I played rugby for 6 years and had an amazing kid in between. I've also been able to give back to the community. I was a collaborative partner with a nonprofit organization, A World Fit For Kids! EmpowerHER event. Where we showed young girls from elementary to high school how to play rugby. This opportunity was amazing as the feedback we received was that the majority of the girls want to start a rugby league at their High Schools and Middle Schools. Most recently, I had the opportunity to try out for the MEXICO Linaje Azteca Rugby Team, and through my hard work and dedication, I was selected to represent Mexico's League. Our international games and trainings will be held in Mexico City, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panamá, Houduras and other Countries in the next few months. Due to the tournament's proximity and distance, I'm looking into my community for financial assistance to be able to attend the games and focus on training while minimizing the financial burden. By donating to this awesome cause, it gives you the opportunity to allow me to represent my Mexican roots, which in these times, I believe is essential to show both my support for Mexico as a proud Angelino.
