Help make history this Women’s History month.
MJ has been accepted to the prestigious Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) Rising Star summer program. The Rising Star is a four-week on-campus experience where she’ll earn college credit, enhance her portfolio, and explore major-specific coursework. This program provides access to state-of-the-art facilities and will prepare her for university-level studies.
For Marlee, this is a vital step toward her goal of becoming an Architect, a field where Black women are critically underrepresented. The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards states less than 1% of licensed architects in the US are Black women as of 2023, further emphasizing the need for greater diversity in the profession.
MJ is extremely artistic, creative, and academically accomplished, earning Honors and placement on the Dean's List every year. She has a God-given gift and the faith to achieve her dreams. This opportunity comes with significant financial expense. She has an educational goal of $7,250.00 to attend this transformative program, enabling her to take a critical step toward achieving her dreams and breaking barriers in Architecture. Supporting Marlee not only empowers her as an individual but also contributes to increasing representation in this historically underrepresented profession.
Thank you for your support in advance. Please feel free to contact me for more information about MJ or the SCAD Rising Star program.
