Markus Stinson, long-time lead brewer and member of the ingredient procurement team at Elysian and ABI, has been battling stomach cancer for a few years now. After a period of remission, he recently learned that he is testing positive again.

The intensive treatment means Markus has not been able to work and that will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future. Hence, the impetus to raise funds.

The Blu Grouse , a cozy little pub at 9839 17th Ave SW in White Center (just north of Burien and south of West Seattle) will be hosting an event on Sunday, November 23rd starting at 2:00 PM where proceeds will go towards helping Markus pay for out-of-pocket expenses, which will commence after the first of the year, when his annual deductibles reset.

Please come out if you can to support a fellow brewer as he gears up for another round of battle v. cancer.
