Support Mark's Recovery After Burn Accident
Donation protected
Mark was in an accident on the evening of Friday, December 27. He had just bought a skid loader and when he was working on it, the machine malfunctioned and overheated, leaking gasoline soaking his shirts and vest. As mark was trying to fix it, the machine blew up in his face and Mark was fully engulfed in flames. He tried taking off his clothes but the fire kept catching his body on fire because he was soaked in gasoline. His neighbor heard the commotion and came out with a fire extinguisher extinguishing the fire on his body. Joanna, Marks wife who was inside with their 1 year old daughter Sophie , called 911 and Mark was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. After being assessed, he was airlifted by helicopter to the burn unit in Springfield, MO. He was on the ventilator Friday evening and this morning he has been taken off the vent, breathing normally on his own, and is stable, awake, talking to us and even cracking a few jokes.
Mark has significant 2nd degree burns on his hands, face, and ears. He is unable to move or use his hands because they are so severely burned from trying to remove his engulfed clothing during the accident. He is in a lot of pain and will have a significant recovery process.
My name is Brittany and I am Marks sister creating a gofundme on his behalf. Mark doesn’t have insurance and I’m hoping that this gofundme can relieve some of Marks medical bills.
Please be praying and thinking about my brother and his family. Thank you!
