On Friday evening, March 28, 2025, our father Mark J Bushey, suffered from one of the worst strokes a person could experience while at home by himself. We had no response from him for a day and a half. On the evening of Saturday March 29, 2024 my husband and I went down to his small home in AuSable Forks, NY to check on him and found him on the floor unconscious. We immediately called 911 for assistance. Thankfully they responded so quickly. Thank you to the AuSable Forks volunteers for your outstanding response and kindness in his time of need. The stroke has left an enormous amount of damage to the left side of his brain which controls the right side of our bodies and most of our daily functions. He currently has no use of the right side of his body as in his arm or leg. Also, he cannot feed himself or talk at this time. He has no way of communicating with us at all at this moment. He currently has a permanent feeding tube in his belly to get nutrients and hydration into his body.

Our father is normally an extremely active and independent man. He enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and mostly any outdoor activities. He’s a jack of all trades. He can build anything or fix anything from the ground up, whether it’s renovating, building a home or fixing a car. After our mother passed from aggressive cancer, he carried out many fund-raising events for many years. He hosted many Fish Fry's in local communities which many of his friends and family members helped with, which he was always grateful for. A hundred percent of the fish were caught by him, family members and friends themselves. Giving all the proceeds back to the Cancer Fund in his wife’s memory.

Mark, father of two and grandfather of three needs your support and help to raise donations for his unexpected medical needs. He has an extremely long and extremely hard recovery ahead of him. The doctors, specifically the Neurology team, have assured us he will never be the same outgoing and active man he once was. This is an absolute devastation to him and his family.
