Mark, a 61-year-old lifelong handyman, has always been the person friends and neighbors could count on. From construction to plumbing and heating, there’s little he couldn’t fix. But in October 2024, Mark’s life changed dramatically when he was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. Despite his determination to keep working, the pain and exhaustion from his illness have made it impossible for him to continue.

Mark now faces each day with significant pain, relying on strong medications just to get by. He lives alone with his loyal dog, Wilson, who is his constant companion and source of comfort. With no way to earn an income, Mark is struggling to cover basic living expenses like rent, utilities, and groceries. His health insurance helps with some medical costs, but it doesn’t cover the essentials he needs to stay afloat.
