Support Mark’s fight against pancreatic cancer

Donation protected
Mark is a hardworking, devoted husband of 35 years, a dedicated father and grandfather, an avid outdoorsman, a lover of wine, and a secret cat cuddler. He cries during sappy movie moments and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need.

On December 5th of 2023, Mark drove himself to the ER after a 12 hour work day. He had been having stomach pains and yellowing of the skin. After a few days in the hospital and many tests, a mass was found on his pancreas which was putting pressure on his organs, including his liver. On December 11th, after a biopsy of the tumor, Mark was diagnosed with pancreatic adenocarcinoma (pancreatic cancer). This is a very aggressive cancer and requires equally aggressive treatment. The current plan is 6 months of chemo followed by surgery to remove the tumor. This surgery is both complex and requires a long journey of healing and care afterwards.

Mark started chemotherapy the first week of January. The very next day he returned to work. His doctors have told him that working long hours would be very difficult on his body. They’ve suggested he not work at all but understand some work is good for him psychologically. He loves his job and the people he gets to interact with everyday. But the ability to alleviate some of the pressure to provide and give him a safety net where he can land and focus on healing would be a true gift.

Mark and his family are looking at some tough days ahead, emotionally and financially, as they navigate his treatment. We want to show our love, support and help to alleviate the financial burden that will undoubtably be difficult to deal with.

This is where we, as friends, family and the community, have the power to make a difference. We launched this campaign to rally support for Mark and his family during this challenging time. Your generous contributions will support Mark’s medical expenses, special diet, and provide financial stability during his recovery, allowing the family to focus on what really matters: Mark’s health and the well-being.

Let's come together and show Mark and his family that they are not alone in this fight.

If you are unable to donate financially, please feel free to send good vibes, prayers, phone calls and text messages of support to Mark and his wife Dane. Additionally, feel free to share this campaign with your friends, family and social networks. Your kindness will make a meaningful impact on the lives of this beautiful family as they push through the challenges ahead.
