My name is Alisa, and I have started this campaign on behalf of my dad, Mark.
Mark Serebryanyy is a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Those of you who know him know he is an extraordinary human being. He devoted his life to giving his family the best possible life, ensuring we had every opportunity and chance to make the most of it. Mark is always full of positivity, laughter, and light. He is the life of every party.
Recently, Mark began experiencing excruciating pain in his back and numbness in his legs. After seeing several doctors and completing numerous tests, he was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer, metastasizing in his spine and adrenal glands. This news is devastating and overwhelming on many levels, but he remains strong and determined to beat this monster. He says, “Screw this cancer; I have to party at my grandkids’ weddings!”
The oncologist has recommended radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and stem cell therapy. He also hopes to participate in clinical trials if possible. There’s a long road ahead, but we hope Mark's body will respond well to treatments so we can continue enjoying his company for as long as possible.
Unfortunately, Mark cannot work now due to the excruciating pain and difficulty walking caused by the metastasis to the spine. Any donations will go towards medical costs not covered by insurance (appointments, procedures, and medications), such as stem cell therapy which costs $50,000 per treatment and is not covered by insurance, transportation to and from radiation, chemotherapy, and other medical appointments.
The hope dies last! Mark is determined to overcome cancer but needs help to obtain the necessary treatment to extend his life expectancy and improve his quality of life. Together we can make a difference! He has a lot of life left in him and so much more to share with those around him. Please help us give him that chance. No help is too small. We appreciate everyone’s prayers and any support and kindness throughout this time.
