MarkoRadio.com is an Internet based ethnic radio station specializing in Polka Music, with a weekly "LIVE" broadcast on Live365.com and a video feed presented as well on Marko's Facebook page. The show was a start-up after the closing of WQTW - Latrobe, PA and has a growing listener base. MarkoRadio.com has very few paid sponsorship's and is primarily funded by Marko.
As you know, the United States, as well as the rest of the world, has reached an unprecedented period of time due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus (Covid19), which has forced many businesses into temporary, and in some cases, permanent shut-down. Marko works for one of the companies forced to close it's doors until the Pandemic is over, and the shut-down order lifted. The money he earned at that job was the money he used to support MarkoRadio.com.
Mark's Internet radio station is a means of social outreach, especially during the ear of "social distancing" for many shut-in's, old and young alike. Mark needs YOUR support to keep the radio station in operation. Internet radio may be free for the listeners, but it's NOT free to the broadcasters. There are many unrecognized expenses that most audiences never think about. They include, but are not limited to:
1. The cost of a streaming service to allow the listeners to tune in.
2. Ever growing Copyright & Royalty Fees.
3. Super High-Speed Internet charges to cover the bandwidth needed.
4. High performance Computer Equipment capable of data demands.
5. The cost of the electricity to run all of the high-wattage equipment.
6. Online security to protect the computers and databases.
7. Equipment Upkeep and Maintenance.
8. Website Domain & Hosting Fees.
These expenses occur every month and some keep growing more expensive every month.
We understand the world is going through some financial uncertain times. We're not asking you to donate if it's going to cause financial hardship in any way to yourself. We are asking, if you would consider donating to keep this cause up and running during these difficult time, that you give what you can afford and when it is affordable to do so. We guarantee that each and every dime donated will be utilized towards the continued broadcast of MarkoRadio.com. Should there be any donations remaining at the end of each month, during the Pandemic, the money will be used to cover the next month's expenses. In the event donations have been made and the station is forced to close, due to continued financial difficulties, any unused donations will be donated to a local area food bank.
