Support Mark Stalder's Cancer Recovery Journey
Donation protected
My dad, Mark Stalder was diagnosed with Cancer in the Trigeminal Nerve. Here’s a little background how this all started. He started noticing some numbness on his lower lip a little over a year ago, it has slowly expanded along his jaw and cheek under the eye. After dental and ENT visits over the summer and fall without answers, he finally had an MRI done at the ER late fall and they discovered a Necrotic mass (rapidly growing tumor) sitting or embedded along his Nerve 5 “Trigeminal Nerve”. This nerve runs along the jawbone and up through the brain. The jawbone is where the tumor resided within that nerve. This test result led to a biopsy that originally was scheduled for 2/17/25 but because dad was persistent, he admitted himself to the ER on 12/27/24 where they decided to go ahead and perform the biopsy that day. Then on 1/10/25 he received results that the tumor was cancerous. Thankfully, it is early-stage cancer, and the tumor was very small.
Surgery was 2/11/25 and in hospital for 7 days. Surgery was 15 hours due to its complexity. His jawbone was replaced with his fibula from his left leg. They knowingly left cancer behind that extends into brain above his cheek in that nerve.
Once he’s healed up enough (about 5/6 weeks total) Radiation and Chemo will begin and that will last another 6 weeks he will have treatments morning and afternoon Monday through Friday. This will be a very long road, and he will not be back to work for quite an extended period of time. So, asking for any donations to help dad through this rough cancer journey and recovery. Thank you and keep those prayers going.
