Mark Rodriguez is my lifelong friend, and his journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Mark is a two-time double lung transplant recipient, and in January 2026, he will celebrate 15 years since his first transplant. His work as a stonemason led to his initial need for a transplant, but after his second surgery, Mark returned to his passion and brought his skills to the Santa Fe National Cemetery. He has touched countless lives by mentoring others through their own transplant journeys—including me. Mark’s resilience and kindness have made him a beacon of hope for many.
After transitioning his career, Mark became a published author and public speaker, inspiring others to live life with faith and determination. Now, Mark is facing a new medical battle. He is currently in Arizona for an extended period, possibly up to seven months, and is unable to work. This means one less income for his household, and the travel expenses for his wife and daughter to visit him add to the financial strain. Mark needs the support of his family and friends more than ever.
The funds raised will help Mark focus on his recovery, cover living expenses, and allow his family to be with him without worrying about bills or how they will get by. If you find it in your heart to help Mark and his family financially, please do. We also welcome prayers and positive thoughts. Your support will make a real difference in Mark’s journey back home to New Mexico.
