Dear friends, family, & acquaintances,

I have to humbly expose our financial catastrophe. As many of you know, I had an ischemic stroke around the 6th or 7th of October whilst performing my trucking duties as I traveled towards Utah. I was able to make it to one of our terminals in North Platte, NE, and take an ambulance to the nearby Great Plains Hospital. Through brain scans, the stroke was detected and confirmed. This is what immediately revokes my government-mandated CDL medical card for a minimum period of 1 YEAR, NO MATTER WHAT. My ability to provide my family income vanished. All the insurance and benefits I had invested in (nearly everything that was available) are not going to keep us afloat financially. Mutual of Omaha short-term disability has a max of $500 per week ($395 after Uncle Sam takes out taxes, etc.), has a waiting period of 29 days, and ISN'T EVEN retroactive to the date of the incident. Rachel does work a small local job, but the wages are minimal. Sadly, not everybody gets dealt an easy life. It's almost always been a ride on the struggle bus, and then stuff happens to make it worse along the way. We currently can't afford groceries, my prescriptions, home utilities, or rent. Most of these are due now. Yes, I have applied to multiple non-CDL jobs. The ones that replied did not choose to bring me on board. And, even if I did get hired, the income earned would've been deducted from the short-term disability amount or, if higher, would've canceled it out entirely. What a pinch to be in... My mom has helped all that she can, Rachel's mom has too. That's all. Although severely embarrassing, we are in need of a financial helping hand now. Can you perhaps send/donate $20, $50, $100, or whatever to help me, Rachel, Laura (mother-in-law), Hailey (daughter), & our beloved pets stay afloat a bit longer? It will be forever appreciated. God bless you if you can. And thank you in advance.
