Honoring Director Mark Racco

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers, 

We urgently need your help to honor the memory of my father, Mark Racco. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to cover the immediate and essential costs for his funeral, memorial services, and to support our family during this difficult time. Any amount raised beyond the initial $10,000 needed for the memorial service and last viewing expenses will be used to support our family's living expenses and saved towards potentially and hopefully opening a rehab center in my father's name and in his honor. 

With a heavy heart, I share the news of the passing of my father, Mark Racco, on June 25, 2024. 

This loss is especially poignant as it occurred just two days before the anniversary of my mother’s passing on June 27, 2020. 

My father has left behind three daughters: myself, Luma, and Violet, who is only 12 years old. 

 Mark Racco was born in California and was a renowned director known for his work with iconic bands like Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, and Stone Temple Pilots. Despite his struggles with addiction, he left a legacy of creativity and passion that touched many lives. The outpouring of grief and heartfelt messages from the industry have shown us just how much he was respected and missed. He also played a significant role in helping others with their recovery, even though he couldn’t overcome his own battles with addiction. 

 As my sister Luma and I navigate this difficult time, we face the unexpected challenge of covering the costs for his funeral and cremation/burial services.

My father was a wonderful man, known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for those around him. He had a smile that could light up any room and was always there to lend a helping hand. Although he struggled with addiction, his love for his family was evident, and he remained a beloved father and friend. In his memory, we hope to honor him with a proper farewell. 

The financial burden of these arrangements has fallen on us, and we are struggling to manage it without assistance. We also hope to one day fulfill a dream of opening a rehab center in our father's name to help others struggling with addiction. Any amount, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will help honor my father’s memory in the way he deserves. Your support will not only ease the financial burden but will also provide some comfort to our family during this time of grief.
