We are writing to share difficult news that has profoundly affected everyone who cares for Mark McGregor and his family. Mark has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer. What initially appeared as mild symptoms rapidly progressed to urgent medical testing, and in a moment, life shifted dramatically for Mark, his wife Lindsey Shumila McGregor, and their family.

Mark is a devoted husband and an incredible father to their two beautiful girls, Sofie (4) and Finnley (1). Lindsey has only just returned from maternity leave, a transition that should have been focused on balancing work and family life—but instead has been overtaken by hospital visits, treatment plans, and overwhelming uncertainty.

Those who know Mark know him as a kind, steady, and caring person—someone who shows up for others without hesitation or expectation. He has always put his family and friends first, and now, during the hardest fight of his life, we want to surround him and Lindsey with the same love and support they so freely give to others.

Despite the fear and unknowns, Mark is facing this diagnosis with courage and strength. In the coming weeks, he will begin intensive treatment, including six weeks of daily radiation and chemotherapy, followed by ongoing chemotherapy for the next year. These treatments are essential but will be physically exhausting, emotionally taxing, and life-altering for the entire family.

Why We Are Asking for Help

As Mark begins treatment, he and Lindsey are doing everything they can to stay strong for Sofie, Finnley, and their entire families while navigating this new reality. This season of life was meant to be focused on settling into their growing family and completing their partially renovated home — a place Mark has single handedly been restoring as a legacy for his family — yet it now carries immense emotional and financial strain.

The family is now facing many additional expenses, including:
