Support Mark Koepke's Vision Surgery

Hello! If you’re reading this you’re probably curious on why I made a Go Fund Me.. I am the youngest daughter of Mark Koepke, and I’m making this on behalf of him. Recently we found out he’s going blind. There’s a surgery that could potentially help him but we are short on time to try and save.

If you know my dad you would understand that he would drop everything just to help someone in need, wouldn’t even matter who. He has always been an out door man. Hunting, fishing, camping trips, to working outside doing home repairs, landscaping, plowing, etc. Those of you that know him know that if he becomes completely blind it would break him. My dad would give the shirt off his back to help you in a heartbeat if you needed it. I’ve seen him buy things for other people that don’t have it even when he is in a rough spot himself.

We are asking that you give what you can or even a share out of the kindness of your hearts to help us raise enough money to pay for surgery expenses. He is uninsured because of the cost for private insurance. He doesn’t qualify for state insurance coverage.

Through the support of his five daughters, his wife, sister and help of you all.. we believe we can save him from being completely blind. Please give this a share even if you are unable to donate. I know it’s a long shot but anything is possible.

EDIT: clearing up questions I’m being messaged about.

There are various types of cataracts, the best way to describe his is that it’s growing into his line of sight, when he’s in the shade he see all clouds. He can’t make out details, he can see the shape or figure. When he’s in the sun it changes to looking through shattered glass. And it’s distorted and foggy. In the span of the time this Gofund me has been up, it’s progressed and each day gets worse. His depth perception is affected. Picture this, your trying to light the end of the stick, you think you’re lighting the tip but you are really lighting the middle. This obviously affects driving, working and daily life. The problem with his case is that his Dr said they need to be fixed very soon. Because it’s so bad and the longer we wait the worse it gets. As for the insurance. My mom makes too much money for the market place insurance and if she could afford the insurance through her work, it’s $1100 a month. She would have to pay the first $8000 dollars before the insurance will cover 80%. She can’t afford it right now and it wouldn’t help in this case. My mom’s income covers rent, utilities and Gas. The basic living cost. There’s no room for extras.
