Help Mark Hobi Fight His Toughest Battle Yet

A few weeks ago, our dear friend Mark Hobi went for an annual checkup which showed a mass on his lung. Unfortunately that was just the beginning of what they would discover. It was soon determined that he had a Basal Cell Carcinoma on his right cheek, which was removed, and a Malignant Melanoma on his left shoulder that is large and will require surgery. Specialists advised Mark that the Melanoma had metastasized to his left lung, lung lymph nodes, prostate, and brain. In addition to skin cancer surgery, Mark faces lung surgery, radiation to the brain, and treatment not yet determined for his prostate.

Mark had been doing residential and commercial maintenance work for decades, helping others with just about anything that they need him to do. Not to mention, he's always been there to help whenever people were in need. He hasn't been able to work his regular jobs due to the multitude of appointments all across LA County and it's taking a toll on him, physically and financially.

Hobi is much more than a cancer patient, he is a brother, an uncle, a great uncle and friend. For some of us for over 50 years and for others, an extended family member. As Mark begins the fight of his life, he needs help from us to replace this supplemental income, additional expenses back and forth to doctors and treatments. He is going to need a quiet, comforting place for a few weeks, following his multiple treatments and surgeries, giving him the best outcome for recovery.
