Funny thing, life.

For starters, it's beyond embarrassing to admit to the world that you're a big, hot mess at 58. To beg for help, in essence.

I received a 5-day eviction notice yesterday, and am just now able to carry on with this task. It was deafening to me for hours and hours.

Our work hours have been greatly reduced at the store. Sales are down. The store is slower than I've ever seen. It's a sign of the times, and scary as Hell.

I finally applied for Social Security Disability last month for my ailing body, mind and soul. But that is likely a long process, even with an attorney. Social Security estimates an 8-month turnaround time. We shall see how that goes.

I've been down many a time in my 58 years. Months of darkness and despair, paired with the even worse bouts of anxiety-riddled worry. Medical woes for decades.

I'm trying to get some breathing room in the interim.
