My husband, Mark Gallo, went into the hospital on October 6, 2025, with extreme stomach pain. The next day, he underwent gallbladder removal surgery, but things took a devastating turn and he has not been home since. Since then, Mark has been in the ICU, fighting for his life. He became septic, developed extreme pancreatitis, and suffered multiple organ failures—his heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys were all affected. Over these past months, Mark has endured nearly 20 surgeries, including a life-or-death open stomach surgery. His strength and determination have been nothing short of incredible, but he still has a long road ahead. Mark will need extensive inpatient rehabilitation to learn how to walk again and regain his independence and strength.
This journey has been overwhelming for both of us. Neither Mark nor I are able to work right now, and the mounting medical bills, future rehabilitation costs, and everyday living expenses have become more than we can manage alone. We have always tried to handle things ourselves and never imagined we would be in a position to ask for help. But this situation is more than we ever could have prepared for, and we are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support.
Any help you can offer would mean the world to us. Your support will help ease some of the stress and allow us to focus on Mark’s recovery. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers and for standing by us during this incredibly difficult time. We love you all.
