Mark Gage, my husband, has been through a series of medical emergencies that have turned our lives upside down. He suffered multiple vein ruptures in his legs, and about a month and a half ago, a routine wound care appointment revealed that his legs were infected and he was septic. Mark was immediately hospitalized and put on strong IV antibiotics. His white blood count dropped dangerously low, requiring a blood transfusion, and he spent a month and a half in the hospital fighting to recover.

Mark is our main source of income, and while I work part-time to care for our three kids and manage their schedules, his illness has left us struggling. We’ve fallen behind on rent and bills, and now the medical bills are starting to arrive. The stress has been overwhelming, especially with our kids about to start school and only one vehicle in the family. I start my day at 5:30 in the morning, driving everyone to and from their commitments, and often don’t get home until almost 11 o’clock at night.

We are asking for help to get back on our feet.
