Hey all-
Meet Mark and Nancy Oehlert, my brother and sister in law with servant hearts, but holy macaroni, stubborn as mules. Nancy was a caregiver for her mom and dad and Mark's mother in their home when their health failed and was by their sides when they went to meet Jesus. Mark volunteered in prison ministry and ministry at Lackland Air Force Base for years. Mark was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer 2 years ago and has been struggling with falls for over a year now. A couple weeks ago Mark fell again and landed in the hospital and then was transferred to a physical rehabilitation facility. Last week Nancy was on her way to see Mark when someone ran a red light, hit her and totaled the car. We are thankful Nancy just ended up with bruises, but now not only do they have to adjust to Mark getting transferred to a skilled nursing facility, but also to finding another car so Nancy can continue to work and visit Mark. The vehicle also has to be large enough to accommodate my giant of a brother in law (6' 7"!!) I don't have to tell you about the overwhelming finances when a loved one is critically ill and the stinginess and pokiness of car and health insurance. Please donate to help this sweet and stubborn couple even though they don't feel they deserve it. We understand if you cannot help at this time, but we do ask you to keep them in your prayers.
