To who this may concern, this is a lengthy post but bear with me.
I’m posting this to my dad’s behalf because I can’t reach anyone through his friends list.

As many of you might know, I’m Mark’s son. As of December 22/2024 my dad suffered a severe stroke to the left hemisphere of his brain. Leaving him with many hurdles to go through. Over the past few weeks, he has made some improvements but not as much as we would like him to see. He is currently suffering severe paralysis on the right side of his body(his good side), he has no feeling or use on the right side of his body, he is none verbal, he can answer yes/no style questions and he remembers everyone he knows, but spelling is not an option either, and he cannot swallow on his own due to the severity of his stroke. The doctors as of Sunday, 1/12/25 notified my family and I that my dad will, at absolute best case scenario that he would be 100% wheelchair bound for the remainder of his life, post rehab, and there would be a 50/50 chance of recovery with speech, comprehension and eating on his own again. I am working with his medical team to get him back to NH for all of us to see him so please bare with me during this process
Now, for the absolute hardest part to speak about…
If any of you know my father, and his mindset I am following his wishes. Meaning my fathers wishes, being his only next of kin, the team at Boston medical center where my dad currently is stationed, will be making him comfortable in these next few days/weeks because he has, on his own will, refused a feeding tube and rehabilitation center. He doesn’t want that kind of lifestyle for the remainder of his years. Again, He is currently down in BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER off exit 15 off 93 south in the center of Boston. The more friends and family to visit him during this time and final moments are highly recommended.
Any updates or questions feel free to message me directly. I will be an open book on anything and everything I’ve got for anyone.
