My name is Shadoe Rusk, I have put this GoFundMe campaign together for my longtime friend Mark Sutter. Mark has found himself in a dire situation of having to deal with health issues and financial hardships , both on his own behalf as well as his aging parents. Over the past few years his parents James Sutter (retired youth psychiatric nurse) and Mary Sutter (stay-at-home mom, nonprofit volunteer, and retired software engineering and IT for the USDA) have found themselves incapable of self-reliance due to major medical issues; James suffering from the effects of dementia and Mary having had a stroke with current need of critical brain surgery.

Mark himself, acting as caregiver of his mother while struggling with his father's health in a nursing home, has had to fight to keep himself afloat while dealing with his recently diagnosed health problems; Depression/Anxiety, ADHD, OSTSRD, and requiring HRT to maintain his basic health has made it difficult for him to juggle every other issue that he's been presented.

Financially you can imagine how difficult it has been for him to maintain this lifestyle, however, it is much more complicated. Mark, working as a freelance software engineer and technology consultant, has the freedom to assist his parents, but unfortunately leaves him without steady income. Medicaid is the only government aid he receives, his life savings are gone, and his credit is maxed out. Mary relies entirely on Social Security for her income.

All these factors have contributed to the insurmountable situation Mark and his family now face. Groceries, gas, and phone service are not financially viable, Mark's family home where he still lives is devoid of propane for heating and hot water, and while the house is fully paid for, property taxes and lack of homeowner's insurance threaten to take it all.
