Support Marjanka's Journey and Recovery
Donation protected
A year ago, while visiting her family in the Czech Republic, Marjanka McComb collapsed unexpectedly, went into septic shock, and all her internal organs began to shut down, sending her into a coma.
During this harrowing time, doctors discovered lung cancer and her lung collapsed during a biopsy. After enduring three difficult months in and out of hospitals, Marjanka barely managed to recover enough to return to Canada for further cancer treatment. Upon her return, another biopsy, numerous scan, and x-rays revealed she needed radiation therapy.
But the challenges didn’t stop there. Shortly after, she found a lump in her breast that turned out to be cancer. Fortunately, the tumor was successfully removed through surgery. She is now undergoing hormonal therapy to prevent the cancer from returning.
All of this is on top of her existing health challenges, including four brain surgeries, an unsuccessful cataract surgery that led to vision complications, thyroid deficiency, two congestive heart failures, spinal issues, kidney problems, and neuropathy. Despite these overwhelming hurdles, Marjanka remains a true warrior. Though still very weak, she refuses to give up. She is taking charge of her healing, studying physical and mental health through computer courses, undergoing rehabilitation, and pushing herself to walk and climb stairs. Remarkably, she now manages 200 steps and can climb up to two staircases.
Marjanka's journey is not only physically demanding but also financially challenging. Her dream is to continue her recovery and build enough strength to travel back to her homeland in November. She longs to see her two grandsons, her son, brother, sister, and the rest of her family one more time.
Although Marjanka has been trying to save for what might be her final trip to visit her family, she is struggling financially. We humbly ask for your support to help ease this financial burden. Every dollar donated will make a significant difference in Marjanka's journey towards healing, recovery, and reuniting with her family to celebrate her 80th birthday in November. Your generosity will bring hope and light to her path. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
