It is with such heavy hearts that we share that Maritza Vargas-Reyes, beloved to so many, passed away on Sunday, September 21. Her family kept this information private for a time to ensure that everyone they knew to be close to Maritza was informed through the appropriate channels.

We set up this fundraiser to help the Vargas family pay for anything they needed related to Maritza's injury. The medical bills for Maritza’s care were extensive for several weeks in ICU and surgery. The family does not believe she had health insurance.
