Hello everyone. I'm maritza and me and my boyfriend were both victims of a hit and run recently . This happened Saturday night (5/16/26) around 11:15 pm.

After I got off work me and my boyfriend drove both of our cars over to Coronado. The next day on Sunday, me and him were gonna attend the Bay Bridge run over the Coronado bridge. The run ends after the bridge in a little park. So what we thought of doing was parking one of our cars over at Coronado by where the race ends that way we can just walk to our car and take off From there. We passed the Coronado bridge around 11:00pm everything was fine. We made it to the area where the race ends and we were looking for a place to park my boyfriends car to be ready for the next day. It was a quiet night. We were getting ready to turn into a street when suddenly out of no where this mid sized SUV slamms me from behind. I never saw him coming next thing I know my car flies forward crashing behind my boyfriends car. I'm dazed trying to process what just had happened the back of my head was in pain. And next thing I know the person that hit us takes off almost immediately after hitting me. He just drives off and leaves us there. I thank God I told my boyfriend to take our Jupiter in his car.. This guy could of killed my dog. And what sucks about all of this is that I didn't get a chance to see his plate, his face, I barely saw the car itself. I'm sure his car barely even dented . My car has been somewhat crushed the back is smushed up against the back wheels,the back doors are sealed shut, the gas tank area is all folded in, there's damage in the front of my car too . my car is just in pretty bad shape . My boyfriends car also sustained rear damage but luckily his car still runs. Mine doesn't move because it's kinda crushed up a bit. We made a police report but no luck finding this person. Unfortunately i only have liability and it feels like my insurance is doing nothing to help me. I wasn't so sure if I should create this gofund me but to be honest I do need some help. This came out of no where and I don't have anyway of being able to replace my car. That night also my car was picked up by a tow the cops called and I had to pay out of pocket to get my car out. I paid almost $400 to get it out. I'm all around just getting kicked while in down. I need my car to be able to move and work. If there's anyway anyone can help with anything at all please. Nothing is expected but anything at all is greatly appreciated. I'm hoping I can raise enough to help with expenses that I've had to deal with because of this fucked up situation, maybe if I can somehow save enough to go try and fix it if I'm able to save her or if not go to an auction or get something from craigslist asap to get myself moving and going. It would be amazing. I'm taking all this pretty hard I can't seem to stop crying and replaying what happened in my head and I keep thinking what I could of done differently. I keep beating myself up about it as if it was my fault. I have lower back pain and pain in the back of my head that has been lingering since I got hit, but I'm OK I'm glad it's nothing too serious as the days go by my physical pains slowly is going away. But I'm so pissed that my vehicle is all fucked up because some selfish piece of shit didn't want to man up to what they did. I have a feeling they aren't gonna catch this guy. We made a police report and asked around we walked the areas and looked for cameras that could of possibly seen something. So far no luck. I dont know what else to do.
