On September 3rd, 2024 my cousin, Marissa Ball Benitez, was driving in Lake City, Fl. excited to be celebrating her birthday. With her, was her three year old daughter, Presley, who was in the back seat of the vehicle. Being 8 months pregnant, Marissa and her husband, Aaron, were excited to be meeting their little boy, Ezra,

next month.

Without warning, Marissa was involved in a terrible car accident. She severely broke her leg and had to be removed from the car with the Jaws of Life machine. Thankfully, her daughter Presley was unharmed. After Marissa had emergency surgery on her femur to install a rod, it was discovered that she had a tear in her placenta. So, only a few hours after her leg surgery, she under went an emergency caesarean to save baby Ezra. Praise God Ezra is doing well.

A day after this ordeal, Aaron's only remaining truck broke down. So they are without a vehicle.

This sweet family has been through so much in just a short 24 hour period. Marissa has been a trooper through this ordeal but her recovery will be long.
