Hello friends and family,
As most of you know, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer and have been undergoing treatment since December. I am so grateful for your kind thoughts and prayers because they have helped me stay positive and moving forward these last several months. This journey has been challenging, but by the grace of God, I am still standing in hope. This has been a journey that I would not wish on my worst enemy.
Unfortunately, treatment did not go as well as we had hoped. I was scheduled for a procedure to remove my tumor on Monday October 7th. What was meant to be a 5 hour procedure turned into a 10 hour procedure. My tumor was significantly larger than expected and embedded much deeper. My surgeon worked diligently, as she had promised me she’d get it all and she absolutely did! As of today I’m 100% cancer free! I’m still recovering from surgery which left me with a dislocated tailbone which has been painful on top of recovering from surgery. My recovery time will take about 6 months from my surgery date, until then it’s back to life as normal as possible. There have been monetary strains, more difficult than I imagined, and I’m asking for help. So many of you have helped me already and I’m so very grateful and humbled by you all.
As most of you are aware, I am a single mother trying to raise a family and life has thrown some major curveballs my way in the last few years. It has been extremely difficult to make ends meet, and with rising medical costs I am in a place of need.
I am kindly asking for monetary support as I venture into whatever the next steps on this journey look like. To those of you who have already given so generously, I thank you from every part of my being. For those of you asking how you can help, I sincerely thank you for whatever financial assistance you can provide at this time.
Your grateful and humble friend,
Marissa Leon
PS. I’d like to thank those who helped me put my words and needs together so eloquently in this letter. I’m forever grateful.
