Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read our story and learn about what our friend and her children are going through. It truly means more than you know.

I’m asking for help for my dear friend, Marisela Gonzalez, who I now consider family. She is facing an incredibly difficult and life-changing time. Recently, Marisela was seriously injured in a construction accident in New Smyrna Beach that left her with multiple fractures, including a serious spinal injury. Her accident was also covered by FOX 35 Orlando after a home under construction collapsed at the site.

She has been in the hospital and is expected to remain there for another two weeks. She is currently unable to walk, and her doctors have explained that the road to walking again will be very difficult, with only a small chance of regaining the ability to walk. She will also be unable to work during her recovery.

Marisela is a mother of two children, a 6-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son. She is currently separated from them while she focuses on healing and doing everything she can to get back to them. Marisela has no close family here, but the friendships she has built over the years have become like family. Friends and community members have stepped in to care for her children and support her.

Her recovery will continue long after she leaves the hospital, and donations will help with the ongoing costs of rent, utilities, groceries, childcare, medical appointments, therapy, and other necessities while she is unable to work. Recurring donations would provide steady support for Marisela and her children as these needs continue over time, and one-time donations would also make a meaningful difference.

If you know Marisela, you know how much she loves her children and how hard she works for her family. She is a strong woman giving everything she has to recover and hopefully walk again. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring about Marisela and her children, for taking the time to read their story, and for any support you are able to give. Every act of kindness means so much during this time. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. A simple share could help reach someone who can.
